Being
inseparable, both of science and art are seeking the popularization
of truth. As a matter of fact, just like the two sides of a coin,
science and art origin in the most noble part of human activities,
pursuing depth, popularization, eternity and meaning.
Shanghai Science and Art Exposition, with Professor Li Zhengdao
and Ye Shuhua as consultants and sponsored by Shanghai Association
for Science and Technology and Shanghai Artists Association, was
held in Shanghai International News Center and Oriental Pearl Tower
Zero Meter Hall in May, 2004, in order to foster the communication
and interaction between science and art field, and to strengthen
social public’s attention, understanding and participation
of science and art. Having generated intense impact on the whole
society, those leaders who were related to science and art attached
great importance to the exposition and the exposition drew much
attention from people in the science and art field and attracted
people from all over the country to visit it.
Science and Art Exposition---the preciseness of science combining
with the romance of art, which breaks through the conventional localization,
create a brand new field that is full of passion and energy. Here,
science enlarges the scope of art, making it become more splendid;
here, art brings aesthetic pleasure to science, and meanwhile, also
brings infinite inspiration and enlightenment; here, there are questions
to the sense of science, the exploration of art aesthetics and philosophical
thinking of civilization advancement.
